Tracking gift vouchers
One of the key challenges that businesses face when implementing a gift voucher scheme is tracking the life-cycle of each gift voucher.
Our system enables you to track the status of each gift voucher processed so that you can quickly and easily identify the date that each gift voucher has it's status changed, including:
- Purchased
- Issued
- Booked
- Redeemed
- Expired
- Cancelled
- Refunded
This means that before a gift voucher can be redeemed, your staff members are able to check the validity of the gift voucher to make sure it is valid.
Validity
When you create each gift voucher type you are able to state whether the gift voucher is to be valid for a set number of months (i.e. six months from date of issue) or whether it is valid from one specific date to another specific date (i.e. 01 November to 31 March).
The system will automatically amend the status of a gift voucher to 'expired' if it hasn't been redeemed and has reached its expiry date. This means that you will be able to identify what percentage of gift vouchers have expired but not been redeemed (i.e. money straight to the bottom line).
Grace period
Many of our clients allow recipients to extend their gift voucher, in certain circumstances. Therefore we have incorporated, into the Gift Voucher Application, a 'grace period'. This means that you are able to specifiy by how many days or months you will allow gift vouchers to be extended by.
Once the grace period has been entered, our system will only mark each gift voucher as 'expired' once its reached the end of the 'grace period'.
